Mechanism of action

CJC-1295 with DAC is a synthetic GHRH analogue modified with a maleimidoproprionic acid Drug Affinity Complex that enables covalent binding to endogenous serum albumin, dramatically extending plasma half-life from the native 7-minute half-life to approximately 6–8 days. This creates sustained GHRH receptor stimulation on pituitary somatotrophs, resulting in continuous GH release and persistent elevation of downstream IGF-1 over an extended period.

Research notes

  • Sustained GH: DAC technology creates "GH bleed" — continuous low-level GH release between pulses; distinct profile vs shorter analogues.
  • IGF-1: Studies show IGF-1 remaining elevated for 2–3 weeks following a single injection in animal models.
  • Lean mass: Animal studies demonstrate increased lean mass and reduced adipose tissue over extended protocols.
  • Clean profile: No significant elevation of cortisol, prolactin, or ACTH observed, unlike older GHRPs.
  • Combination research: CJC-1295 DAC + Ipamorelin combination studied for synergistic GH pulse amplification.
